Due to the fact that the industry’s electric consumption demands almost 60% of the energy generated in the country, and less than 90% of the 31 million customers have contracts in domestic rates, the managed actions to this sectors must be scaled to fit the national needs.

As a consequence of these activities, FIDE's management, with the commitment of its government agencies, the Directive, Consulting and Technical Committees, established the goal to obtain, regarding the results obtained until 2006; growth of 2.5 to 5 times, to reach, on 2012 an electricity saving in the country between 29,532 to 59,065 GWh based on the financial resources to be invested on the projects and programs.
