Another fundamental element for assuring the persistence of progress achieved at a National level in the rational use of electric energy, is the certification by means of the “FIDE label”, of those equipments, materials and technologies that guarantee a high degree of efficiency in electric power consumption, by which they may be considered as savers with the latest technology.
It is important to mention that the equipment with the highest efficiency has also a longer useful life than that of its conventional equivalents, in relation to economic savings, as well as a decrease on the costs of up keeping and replacement.
The “FIDE label” is a voluntary program for the identification of highly efficient electric equipment that constitutes the first option for those that use electric equipment and seek, not only savings in the fluid, but also seek economic benefits for themselves and for their companies.
Presently 3,075 models of equipment have obtained the “FIDE label”, among which should be noted: motors, compact fluorescent lamps, ballasts, presence sensors, luminaries for public lighting, clothes washing machines, air conditioners, domestic refrigerators and high discharge fluorescent lamps.
In an action with similar objectives, FIDE, jointly with the National Chamber of Consulting Companies, accredits those Mexican consulting companies specialized in the execution of electric energy saving projects, who have a historic shown capacity, efficiency, righteousness, seriousness, knowledge and practical experience on this matter. Presently there are around twenty certified companies.
FIDE also participates with the CONAE in the emission of energy standards and backs Mexican institutions in research and development of equipment for production of clean electric energy, as is the case of its contribution to the National Hydrogen Network A. C. for development of a Mexican design for a fuel cell or by financing projects of a micro hydraulic generator plant. |
