Incentives and Market Development

FIDE has concluded the incentives programs to promote the usage of high efficiency equipment in the productive sector.

A remarkable success was obtained in the case of motors, in which due to the participation of FIDE, a vicious circle was broken on the low demand; this because users didn't know about cutting-edge technologies,  the initial cost was higher, and there were few offers from suppliers because they did not have enough sales. As a result, equipment that was standard 10 years ago, totally lost its share of the market and was substituted by highly efficient motors. (Fig. 6)

A similar result was obtained on the air compressors market, of which 1,109 low efficient equipments were replaced by ones of state-of-the-art technology, and of linear fluorescent T-8 lamps, of which almost 5.5 million units were substituted.

An additional ruling activity of FIDE is to pay attention to the requirements
of electric energy saving at the domestic sector.
